On Shabbos, I’m allowed to carry a heavy dresser up three flights of stairs, even though it will wear me out. Yet I’m not allowed to carry even a feather into a reshus harabim. If the Torah forbids work on Shabbos, why is it that we find such disparity in the halacha?
