Shmuz #243

Needs of the Soul

Throughout history, man has sought happiness. The philosopher Blaise Pascal wrote: “All men seek happiness. This is without exception. The cause of some going to war, and of others avoiding it… This is the motive of every action of every man, even of those who hang themselves.”

The question is: why do so few find it? Why is happiness such an elusive commodity?

This Shmuz focuses on the inner needs of man. If these needs are met, man is at peace with himself and he can find happiness. If these needs aren’t met, then he is destined to suffer.
