Free will – Part 2: I Never Do Anything Wrong

One of the most unusual quirks of human behavior is, “I never do anything wrong.” No matter how heinous the crime, no matter how the wicked the criminal, nobody says, “I know it is wrong to murder, rape, and pillage, but what can I do? I desire his money.”

Quite the opposite, almost everyone has an excuse for why they do what they do, an entire worldview that explains away their behavior so that it sounds acceptable and considerate — at least to them.

This Shmuz focuses on that quirk of “I never do anything wrong.” Once we fully understand it, we can begin the very difficult work of recognizing our flaws and set about a plan for working on them.
